Director, Store Planning
Foot Locker Inc.
As director of store planning, Danette Kroll directs the store planning and design process for Foot Locker, Footaction, Kids Foot Locker, House of Hoops, and CCS divisions of Foot Locker Inc., a New York-based athletic footwear and apparel retailer operating some 3,600 athletic retail stores in 21 countries in North America, Europe, and Australia. She also provides leadership and oversight for the design integrity and implementation for Foot Locker Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.
She recently directed the design development, creation, and implementation of the first retail store for the newly acquired CCS division, a direct-to-customer retailer that sells skateboard, footwear, apparel, and accessories. The first two CCS retail stores opened this year.
Kroll plays an integral role in directing the shop-in-shop and mall-store implementation of House of Hoops by Foot Locker, a joint venture with Nike. The first flagship store opened in Harlem in 2007.
With 28 years in the retail, design, and construction industry, she started her career working for architectural/engineering firm Giffel's and Associates before entering the retail realm as a project manager for JGA. Her background includes management positions with Bed Bath & Beyond, Barnes and Noble, Borders Group, Mikasa, and Petrie Retail.
Since joining Foot Locker in 2000, Kroll has been recognized for design excellence and creative contribution. She is a recipient of several professional awards, including fixture design awards and the Bed Bath & Beyond On Target With Teamwork Award for most original store design.
An associate member of the American Institute of Architects, Kroll also serves on her community's Green Team, a group focusing on residential and municipal sustainable design and implementation. She holds a B.S. in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI.
