This year’s council of leading retailers will help guide A.R.E.’s retail-focused programs: the annual A.R.E. Design Awards; the buyers guide; the online database of retail environments suppliers; the association’s programming at retail events such as GlobalShop, Shoptalks, and The NADI Retail Design Collective; A.R.E.'s web site for buyers and specifiers; and any future retail-oriented services and campaigns directed at retail store planners, visual merchandisers, and buyers.
The
first meeting of the A.R.E. Retail Council (then known as the NASFM Retail Council) was attended by five of its six charter members
on Feb. 3, 2000. Since then, the council has grown to 60 retailers, several of whom serve as Executive Committee members.
